I appreciate the great work of Dr. Gary W. Garrett in giving oversight to this wonderful, historical institution, known as the Apostolic Archives International. My personal research finds the information gathered, to be a credible and useful tool for research in Pentecostal studies. I know you will find the same.

I applaud the efforts of Dr. Gary W. Garrett and his wife (Deborah) in giving tirelessly to the mission of the preservation of the Pentecostal movement, the Azusa Street Revival and other similar revivals in general, and to the Apostolic movement inparticular. This rich history needs to be preserved for this, and future generations. The work of Jesus Christ of those men who hazarded their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.

Our Story

From the Upper Room to the Ends of the Earth: The Unstoppable Fire of Pentecost

Introduction: The story of Pentecost did not end in Acts 2—it began there. What started as a small gathering of 120 believers in an upper room in Jerusalem has ignited a fire that spans centuries and continents. The Day of Pentecost was not just a moment; it was the divine launch of a Spirit-empowered Church, destined to carry the Gospel to every nation under heaven.

The Birthplace: Acts 2 In Acts 2, the promise Jesus made in Luke 24:49 and Acts 1:8 came to pass. As the disciples tarried in prayer, “suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind.” Tongues of fire appeared, and every one of them was filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

It was more than an emotional experience—it was the empowerment of the Church. Peter, once unsure and afraid, now stood with boldness and preached the first Pentecostal sermon, declaring Jesus as both Lord and Christ. The result? Three thousand souls were baptized in Jesus’ Name and added to the Church.

The Expansion: The Book of Acts and Beyond From that moment on, the Holy Ghost continued to fall—on Samaritans in Acts 8, Gentiles in Acts 10, and believers in Ephesus in Acts 19. The same pattern was seen: belief in Jesus, repentance, water baptism in His Name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Pentecost was never meant to be a one-time event. It was the model, the blueprint, the divine pattern for salvation and empowerment in the New Testament Church.

The Reawakening: Pentecost in the Modern Era For centuries, the original apostolic doctrine became buried under tradition and religious formalism. But God always preserves His truth. In the early 20th century, a fresh wave of Pentecostal revival swept across the world—from Topeka, Kansas to Azusa Street in Los Angeles.

Men and women hungry for more than ritual began to experience what the apostles experienced: tongues of fire, supernatural healing, and a deep return to the Apostles’ doctrine. This movement didn’t create something new—it rediscovered what was already in the Book.

The Movement Today: A Global Fire Today, Pentecost is no longer confined to a region. It is a global movement, with millions receiving the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus’ Name. In underground churches in Asia, on dirt floors in Africa, in urban centers across America and Europe—the sound of Pentecost still echoes.

It’s not just about speaking in tongues—it’s about transformation. It’s about power to witness, to overcome, to live holy in an unholy world.

Still Burning, Still Falling Pentecost is not a denomination. It’s not a relic of history. It is the very heartbeat of the Apostolic Church. The fire that fell in Acts 2 is still falling today. The wind that blew in Jerusalem is still blowing across nations. The same Jesus who poured out His Spirit then is still pouring it out now.

And until the trumpet sounds, we will continue to preach, to baptize, to lay hands on the sick, and to proclaim that this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.
